Having used the power of Social Media, we are managing to build many contacts across the entire United Kingdom. This once again proved an exceptionally powerful tool when Glasgow Airports Fire & Rescue Service replied to one of our messages stating they had some surplus kit they no longer needed.
On discussing this further it was soon apparent that they had a variety of kit that was no longer needed and their Watch Officer was tasked with its disposal. Having arranged a suitable time and date, I traveled out to the airport and after many security checks, I was in. The guys were good enough to offer me a tour of the station and showed me their extremely large and expensive fire engines, which put ours to shame. However we soon collected the very generous donation of kit. It turned out to be more than what we expected. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to have a proper hand over photo due to the crews having to go out, however I took some on my return home.
